Dorothy Nates Jordan, 82, of Columbia, died Sunday, March 17, 2013. Born in Richland County, April 15, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie D. and Pearl Lee Sharpe Nates. She was a member of New Life Christian Outreach of Lugoff, SC.

Survivors include her sons, David D. (Pat) Jordan of Chapin, T. L. Jordan, Jr. (Dr. Nancy Bickford-Jordan) of Newberry; daughter, Deborah (Tim) Bradshaw of Elgin; grandchildren, Robert and Jeremy Bradshaw and Angela Jordan; brothers, Ernest L. and Herbert D. Nates; sisters, Evelyn Jordan, Molly Durden, Joyce Chavis, Nancy Atkins, Norma Nates, Thelma Foxworth, Rickie Roach and Marilyn Smith. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Lee Jordan, Sr.; grandson, John Michael Jordan; brother, Ervin D. Nates; and sister, Ruby Shumpert.

The funeral service for Mrs. Jordan will be held 11 o'clock, Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Wednesday evening, at the funeral home.
