Mrs. Dorothy Fulmer Kerscher, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, February 17, 2025, under the loving care of her daughter, Elaine, in Pelion. She was born December 2, 1931, in Richland County.

Her journey on this earth was one marked by love and laughter, and her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. Dot, as she was affectionately known, was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pearl Fulmer, her sisters, Virginia Fulmer Floyd, Elva Fulmer Lee, and Erma Fulmer Sims, her husband, Leo Kerscher, her daughter, Janet Hinnant Sloan, and her grandson, William Alvin Hinnant, Jr. (AJ).

Dot is survived by one son, William Alvin Hinnant (Bill/Tree), two daughters, Barbara Hinnant Tyler and Elaine Hinnant Bowman, and her son-in-law, William Harry Bowman (Bill), as well as many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a few great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members, friends, and pets who will sadly miss her.

Remembering her will be easy. We will do it every day. But there's an ache within our hearts that will never go away. We find comfort in knowing she is "Absent from the body, to be present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8).

The service for Mrs. Kerscher will be held at 2 o'clock, Sunday, March 2nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
