Dorothy Ann Neeley David, 91, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Born in Richland County, South Carolina, on January 1, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Bill Neeley and Annie Coogler Neeley. Mrs. David was the loving wife of Leon Robinson David, which she married in 1947 at the tender age of 16. She and Leon shared a marriage of devotion and support until his death in 2001.

Mrs. David took great pride in being a mother and grandmother. She was the matriarch of her family and dedicated her life to them. Mrs. David adored her flowers and beloved cat. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her yard and listening to music.

Survivors include her children, Margaret Faye Rowe and Michael Leon David (Amy Bailey); grandchildren, Chad Clark (Amy), Sonya Clark, Belinda Walker, and Addison David; great grandchildren, Leanna Walker, Michael Walker, Sara Clark, Cameron O'Dell, Ayden Gibson, and Liam Chavis; siblings, Katherine Hallman, Margaret McClellan, and Joseph Neeley, as well as her best friend of 77 years, Allene Dabbs. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her children, Willis Eugene David, Brenda Ann David, and Kathy David Treadway.

The funeral service for Mrs. David will be held at 2 o'clock on Wednesday, November 15th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. Burial will follow at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC.

The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock at the funeral home.
