Douglas Jennings "D.J." Hubbard, Sr., 85, of Walterboro, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Born November 11, 1928 in Marlboro County, he was a son of the late Tracy Harmon Hubbard and Mary McQuage Hubbard. DJ was a sales manager with Cox-Fitz Motors of Florence, formerly Cox Motors. He was a member of Welch Creek Baptist Church of Walterboro and enjoyed farming and working the land. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Bessinger Hubbard; son, Douglas Jennings "Bo" Hubbard, Jr. (Lisa) of Pinehurst, NC; daughters, Inez McLaurin (James) of Elgin, SC, Susan Edgeworth (Bill) and Diane Hubbard, all of Florence, SC, and Laurin Loy (Jim) of Murrells Inlet, SC; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hubbard was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.

A memorial service for Mr. Hubbard will be held 5 o'clock, Saturday, February 15th, at Welch Creek Baptist Church, with The Rev. James H. Backer officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 4 o'clock.
