Douglas Lee MacLeod, 70, of Blythewood, died Monday, May 10, 2021. Born in Summit, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Donald Eugene and Barbara Maben MacLeod and was married to Jo Lee Parsons MacLeod. He was previously married to Lynn Welborn MacLeod and together they all created a wonderfully modern family.

Doug was a banker, restaurant owner, and marketing specialist. Other than his family, perhaps his greatest accomplishment was being a teacher. He was made to teach students; not just curriculum but about life. He greatly influenced all of those that got to work with him or learn from him. Doug never met a stranger and was incessantly inquisitive about everyone around him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Andrew James MacLeod (Jennifer), Laura MacLeod Gisler (Gregory), Meredith Lee MacLeod Block (Jason); grandchildren, Marjorie Anne MacLeod, Amelia Ross MacLeod, Colin MacLeod Gisler, Delaney Grace Gisler, and Connor Lee Block. He is also survived by his brother, James Spencer MacLeod (Liz); their children, Kimberly Hall (Patrick) and Leslie Esposito (Brian), and their children, Gabriel, Spencer, Abigail, Emmerson, Zella, and Callen.

A memorial reception will be held Sunday, May 23 at Carmel Road Park (2365 Carmel Rd. Charlotte, NC 28226). You are welcome to drop in from 2:00-4:00 o'clock to share your memories and love for Doug. Face coverings and social distancing are asked for at the reception. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
