Douglas Scott Zeagler

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Scott Zeagler, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Scott, as he was affectionately known, peacefully departed this world on May 7, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of his home and the love of his family. Born on May 30, 1968, in the charming city of Savannah, Georgia, Scott was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout his 57 years of life.

Scott was the cherished son of Ralph Zeagler (Beth) and Andrea Mosley. From a young age, he exhibited a natural curiosity and passion for all things mechanical, a trait he undoubtedly inherited from his father. Scott proudly attended Lexington High School, where he began to cultivate his lifelong love for speed and mechanics. His career as a mechanic saw him work alongside his father, honing his craft at Zeagler's and later at Complete Car Care. Returning to Zeagler's, Scott demonstrated not only his technical acumen but also his leadership and dedication as he learned to run the family business.

Scott's love for speed was not confined to his professional life. He was an avid fan of NASCAR racing and drag racing, passions that fueled his adventurous spirit. Whether he was fishing, four-wheeling, or tinkering with RC cars, Scott found joy in the thrill of the ride and the peace of the great outdoors. However, his greatest joy came from the simple pleasures of life—spending time with family and friends. Scott was known for his generosity, always willing to lend a hand to those in need, and his infectious laughter and warmth made every gathering brighter.

Scott's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Tonya Wood Zeagler, whose unwavering love and support were the cornerstone of their life together. He was the proud father of two sons, Breyden Scott Zeagler and Austin Ryan Zeagler, who will forever cherish the lessons and love imparted by their father. Scott's grandsons, Rhyder and Camden Jacob Zeagler, were the apples of his eye, and he delighted in every moment spent playing and exploring with them. His sisters, Tanya Zeagler Dillon and Tracey Zeagler Feary, nieces, nephews, and countless friends will hold dear the memories of his kind heart and generous spirit.

A service celebrating Scott's life will be held on Tuesday, May 12th, at 4 o'clock, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a man who touched so many lives with his warmth and kindness. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 3 o'clock.

As we bid farewell to Scott, we take solace in knowing that his spirit lives on in the laughter and love of those he leaves behind.

In this time of sorrow, let us remember Scott not only for his love of speed and mechanics but for the way he lived his life—with a generous heart, a joyful spirit, and an unwavering dedication to family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
