Edmund Donald Richman, 83, of Columbia, died Saturday, December 26, 2015, at his home. Born August 16, 1932 in The Bronx, New York, he was a son of the late Sol and Rose Scherer Richman.

Mr. Richman attended City College, Bernard Baruch Business School and graduated from The School of Art and Design in New York City. He also attended two semesters at Columbia University specializing in Gemology. Mr. Richman was a member of Beth Shalom Synagogue and was owner of Palmetto Gold Buying Service, Inc., DBA, Palmetto Gold Jewelers. His store was located on Decker Boulevard for 36 years. He served his country in the US Army for two years during the Korean Conflict.

He was married to Greta Daum Richman for 60 years and was a loving father and grandfather. For 36 years he looked forward to his Thursday evening card games with his friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Marilyn Picow (Ian) of Columbia, Susan Dowlen (Bryan) of Macon, GA; granddaughters, Eden Picow of Columbia, Alexis Dowlen of Macon, GA, Meghan Dowlen of Atlanta, GA; grandson, Brandon Picow of Columbia; niece and nephew, Rochelle and Harry Laster of Fort Lee, NJ; sisters-in-law, Marie Richman of Huntington, LI, NY, Blanch Richman of New Rochelle, NY.

A graveside service will be held 3 o'clock, Sunday, December 27th, at Arcadia Lakes Cemetery, 1401 Arcadia Lakes Dr, Columbia. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
