Edna Lee Crawford Nichols, 88, of Columbia, died, Monday, June 19, 2017. Born on January 7, 1929 in Laurens County, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Maida Bagwell Crawford. She was married to her loving husband, Tom, for 52 years, and had the patience of Job in raising her four children. Mrs. Nichols was a faithful wife, who played a large part in her husband's busy and successful career by keeping the home a place for the family to enjoy. She was a lady of strong Christian faith, and was very involved with the children at North Trenholm Baptist Church where she was also a member.
Survivors include her children, Thomas C. Nichols, III (Michelle), Bryan Keith Nichols (Debbie), Brent A. Nichols, and Lisa N. Smith (Kevin); grandchildren, Brooke Bartley (Corey), Dayne T. Nichols (Joanna), Courtney Nichols, Christian C. Smith, Cameron S. Smith and Melissa Finch (Reed); great grandchildren, Finn Thomas Bartley, Fletcher Woods Bartley, Ayla McKenzie Nichols, Adalyne Rose Nichols, Savannah Finch, and Hayley Finch. She is also survived by one sister, Wilma Parnell and her loving pet, Molly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Charles Nichols, Jr.; six brothers and one sister.
The service for Mrs. Nichols will be held 2 o'clock, Friday, June 23rd at North Trenholm Baptist Church, 6515 N. Trenholm Road, Columbia, with Rev. Casey Williams, Rev. David Knapp and Rev. R. Joseph Copeland officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30 o'clock in the church sanctuary. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
