Mr. Elbert Eugene Williams, Jr., 38, of Swansea, died Sunday, August 31, 2014. Born July 26, 1976 in West Columbia, he was a son of Pastor Elbert E. Williams, Sr. and Nancy Henderson Williams. Elbert, an avid Gamecock fan and an avid fisherman, had worked for many years as a collision repair specialist with Bob Johnson Body Shop, and also as a maintenance supervisor at an equestrian farm in Blythewood.
In addition to his parents, Elbert is survived by a brother, Jason Williams and wife Melony; aunts, Charlene Blackwelder, and Regina Key; uncles, Ronnie Henderson, Pastor Carl E. Williams, and Pastor Larry Williams; great aunts, Joan Cook, and Juanita Wilborn; and great uncle, Carol Blume; as well as numerous cousins. Those preceding in death are his maternal grandmother, Nettie Wilson; maternal grandfather, Lee Henderson; paternal grandparents, Lettie Williams Currence and Billie Williams; uncles, Edward Dean Henderson, Edgar Gene Henderson, and Billy Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 12 o'clock, Thursday, September 4th at Life Springs Worship Center, 5643 Platt Springs Rd., Lexington, SC, with The Rev. Derrick V. Gardner officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 11 o'clock.
