Elfriede Falkner Padilla, 79, of Columbia, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Born in Mering, Germany to the late Wilhelm and Johanna Walkmann Falkner, she was married to the Filimon Padilla for 57 years until his death in 2016. Elfriede was retired from the Richland District Two schools as a Cafeteria Manager.

Elfriede is survived by her daughter, Helen Mills of Columbia; sons, David (Sherri) Padilla, of Cuba, MO and, Johnney Padilla of Columbia; grandsons, John David Mills, of Charleston, SC and Christopher Padilla of Bremerhaven, Germany; granddaughter, Jenna Powers, of Cuba, MO; great-granddaughters, Vera Lynn Mills, of Charleston, SC and Madalyn May Verdue of Cuba, MO; sisters, Eleonore Jackson of Clarksville, TN, Erika Pheifer of El Paso, TX; and a brother, Oscar Falkner, Augsburg, Germany.

The service for Elfriede will be private. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
