Dr. Elihu Mark Kraemer, 83, of Columbia, South Carolina, died on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Dr. Samuel H. Kraemer and Dr. Hilda Fliegel.
Elihu attended Union College in Schenectady, NY and later graduated from University of Maryland School of Medicine where he met Hazel Monserrate his first wife. He completed an OB/GYN Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC and proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Lt Colonel.
Dr. Kraemer settled in Coral Springs, FL, where he started his OBGYN practice and raised his family. He was heavily involved in his community, played golf, tennis, and enjoyed time with close friends.
Later in life he married Pam Pierce where he settled in Orlando, FL after retiring from medical practice.
Dr. Kraemer ultimately settled in Columbia, SC where he has lived for the past 6 years to be closer to his family.
Dr. Kraemer was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Samuel H. Kraemer and Dr. Hilda Fliegel. He is survived by his sons, Dr. Todd Kraemer (Carly) of Columbia, SC, Mr. Erik Kraemer (Janelle) of Nashville, TN, and Mr. Sam Kraemer (Jennifer) of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Kacy and Alex Kraemer of Columbia, SC, Kennedy Kraemer of Coral Springs, FL, and Lilly Faye, Georgia, Eli and Frances Kraemer of Nashville, TN, as well as his sister, Judge Edith Klinger of Canton, MA.
The Memorial Service will be held at 1 o'clock on Friday, August 22nd, 2025, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC 29223. The family will receive friends following the service at Todd and Carly's home.
