Elise D. Morton, 82, of Columbia, died on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Born June 2, 1942, in Aiken, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Lillie Hendrix Weatherford.

She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful smile and positive, friendly personality. She was dedicated to her faith and a member of the Christian congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Clemson Road Kingdom Hall. She retired from the Girl Scouts as director of finance. In her spare time, she enjoyed drawing and sewing.

Most importantly she was a devoted wife and mother and adored by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Susan M. Nelson of Columbia and Sandra Morton Fowler (Mark) of Columbia; grandchildren, Joshua Lambert (Bernadette), Kristin Boswell (Will), and Katelyn Nelson (Scott Easley); great grandchildren, Mercedes Lambert, Kingston Lambert, Jameson Lambert, and Augustine Lambert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Morton, her grandson, Jacob Gower, her brother, Frederick Weatherford and sister, Sarah Gross.

The memorial service for Mrs. Morton will be held at 3 o'clock, August 10, 2024, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2640 Clemson Rd, Columbia, SC 29229.
