Obituary

Dr. Elizabeth A. Bartlett, 90, of Columbia, died Friday, November 20, 2020. Born in Rockford, IL, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Brown and Gertrude Elizabeth McGillivray Bartlett. Dr. Bartlett was a psychologist with Richland County School District Two and the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. During her lifetime she attended Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, Christ Episcopal Church, and Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her children, Michael Blanck, Cynthia Blanck Eldridge (Paul), and Linda Blanck Propst (John); grandchildren, Lauren Libet (Jared), Amanda Kelley (Adam), Jonathan Eldridge, David Eldridge (Katie), Daniel Eldridge (Betsy); and great-grandchildren, John Dickson Kelley, Emma Libet, Henry Kelley, and Kennedy Libet. She is also survived by her brother, William M. Bartlett (Jan), and her nephew, Scott Bartlett (Susan), and niece Beth Bartlett. She was predeceased by her husbands, the Reverend Mr. Charles K. Blanck and the Reverend Dr. Austin F. Shell.

Elizabeth was a voracious reader and had a variety of interests that included playing violin in the Columbia and Greenville Symphony Orchestras, handwriting analysis, gardening, swimming, and numerous crafts. Following Duke Basketball was a special joy, along with her many dogs and exotic birds.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
