Elizabeth Magdalena Smith Booth, 74, of Blythewood, died on Friday, October 21, 2022. Born in Kempten, Germany on March 25, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Clyde E. and Josefine Holzinger Smith.
Elizabeth worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield and later became a homemaker. Mrs. Booth had a generous spirit and was quick to help others in need, in spite of her own health challenges. Known by family and friends alike as "Granny", she was a bright and encouraging presence to all who met her. She especially cherished time spent with her family. She also enjoyed reading, crafting, crocheting and in later years was kept company by her faithful chihuahua, Blue.
Survivors include her children, Lisa Lee Rust (Kenneth), David M. Cannaday (Tonja Homa), and Adrianne C. Davidson; grandchildren, James Rust, Jordan Rust, Elizabeth Cannaday, and Cassidy Davidson Pierce; great-granddaughters, Ariel Blair Pierce and Piper Lee Rust; sisters, Shirley Ann Smith (Ron Hagell) and Claudia Corley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Cregg" Booth, Sr.
The memorial service for Mrs. Booth will be held at 2 o'clock, Friday, October 28th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with Dr. David Elks officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1 o'clock.
