Elizabeth "Betty" Salmon Brockinton died on April 11, 2023. Born on November 9, 1942, in Minden, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Julius Clarence Salmon, Jr. and Ruby Wales Salmon. She was a graduate of Louisiana State University and taught elementary school for many years when her own children were young.

Ms. Brockinton had retired from the Richland County Public Library in Columbia, South Carolina. She was a member of Spring Valley Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed attending Sunday school and her weekly bible study group. She had a lifelong love of reading and spent many hours enjoying a good book. She cherished her dear friends and the many outings and adventures they had over the years. Ms. Brockinton adored spending time with her family. Betty was gracious, generous, kind and had a great sense of humor. She simply loved to laugh!

Survivors include her children, Heather Brockinton of Columbia, SC, Louis Brockinton (Liz) of New Zion, SC; grandson, Mason Brockinton of New Zion, SC; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Clifton W. Salmon and sister-in-law, Marsha Salmon.
