Elizabeth "Betty" Marie Tarbrake, 90, of Columbia, SC, passed away on June 17, 2023. Born on July 13, 1932, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine Labdafsky.

A hard worker, Betty worked as a dietary aide at the Columbia Baptist Hospital until her retirement at the age of 85. She will always be remembered for her love to work, spend time with her family, and cheer on the Atlanta Braves.

Betty is survived by her children, Debra McElveen, Jean Pollard (Larry), Joann Tarbrake; grandchildren, Chris McElveen, Robert McElveen, Kimberly Moody (Sage), and Steven Pollard. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.

A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the Tarbrake family.
