Obituary

Mrs. Ella Mae Childers Moore, 94, the wife of the late J. Curtis Moore of Columbia, died Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Born on August 1, 1921 in York County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Childers and Della Laura Hogue Childers.

Mrs. Moore was an active member at Kilbourne Park Baptist Church, where for many years, she taught the pre-school Sunday school. She also deeply enjoyed the friendship and fellowship she shared with the Joy Sunday school class. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her sons, Jim Moore, Ben E. (Judy) Moore; daughter, Susan M. Hughes; grandchildren, BJ Moore, Brian Moore, James C. (Gayle) Moore, III, Dawn (Mark) Haskett, Natalie (Sean) Northcott, Weston Hughes, Jill (Mark) Cothran; great grandchildren, BJ Player, Hunter Murray, Grange Cothran, Major Cothran, Lily Cothran, Brittany Moore, Ashley Moore, and Laney Moore; and brother, Grady Thomas (Dot) Childers. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Neal, and brothers, Samuel J. Childers and Lester Childers.

A graveside service for Mrs. Moore will be held 2 o'clock, Monday, November 16, 2015, at Greenlawn Memorial Park. 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia. The family will greet friends following the service.
