Ellen Jones Fugate, 86, of Blythewood, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Born September 6, 1927 in Richland County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Jones and Mary Silva Jones. Mrs. Fugate was a former co-owner of Beco Electric Service, and was a member of Grace Nazarene Church.

Survivors include her son Robin Fugate of Blythewood; grandchildren, Robert, Jr., Marlowe, Della, Kristi, and Ronnie; seven great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mary Fugate; and a son-in-law, Byron Chavis, both of Columbia. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Oren Fugate; daughter, Susan Chavis; and a son, Robert Fugate.

The funeral service for Mrs. Fugate will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday, August 23rd at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia with The Rev. Brian Walker officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Memorial Gardens of Columbia.
