Elmer Leroy "Rosie" Rosenbeck, 64, of Cayce, died October 14, 2012. Born June 3, 1948 in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late Earl Rosenbeck and Elizabeth Juanita Etters Rosenbeck.
Rosie was a member of the US Marine Corps for four years and then enlisted in the US Navy for one year. He worked with the BC High School Band Booster Club for fifteen years. He served twenty-one years at VA Regional Office as a loan officer and nine and a half years at the Department of Motor Vehicles as the executive mail room director. He was known as Papa Rosie by his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his Boston Terriers, Dolly, Rascal, and Mary.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Rosenbeck; sons, Britton Rosenbeck of Cayce, Christopher Rosenbeck of West Columbia, and Travis Boone of Cayce; daughter, Sharon (Greg) Moore of West Columbia; brother, James (Susan) Rosenbeck of Gastonia, NC; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Rosie was preceded in death by a grandson, Patrick Rosenbeck.
A memorial service for Mr. Rosenbeck will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, October 20th, at Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church, 501 Church Street, West Columbia, SC, with The Rev. Gene Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 10 until 11 o'clock, at the church. There will be a private interment at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery at a later date.
