Mr. Emilio Hidalgo 41, of Blythewood, died Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at his home in Blythewood

He was born on September 14th, 1979, in Guatemala. Emilio loved spending time with nature and animals. He enjoyed tending to plants and planting gardens. Emilio was always willing to help anyone in need and there was nothing he could not do. He was always eager to learn; taking on new challenges with a smile. He always carried a big smile on his face, telling others to not be sad. He spread his kindness everywhere and to everyone.
Emilio will be missed by his son, Yener Emilio Hidalgo; his mother, Jacinta Sanchez Bernal; his sisters, Manuela Pacheco Bernal and Katalina (Katy) Bernal; uncles, aunts, nephews, niece, cousins; and his Blythewood family, as well as and many friends.
The service for Emilio will be held at 5pm, Sunday, December 27th, at Gethsemani Church of God, 1253 Boston Avenue, West Columbia, SC, with Rev. Antonio Ibarra officiating. Burial will be in Guatemala. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
