Emma Branham Floyd, 87, of West Columbia, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Born April 27, 1926, in Ridgeway, SC she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Lillian Branham. A longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she spent many years working as in quality control with both General Electric and the Square D companies. Emma was a very loving and giving person, and she enjoyed serving others through the Relief Society and by teaching the children of the church. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Burrel D. Floyd; sons, Donald Walker (Fay), Van Don Floyd (Louise), Luther Lewis Floyd (Becky), Burrel D. Floyd, Jr., and Joseph Andrew Floyd, Sr. (Cathy); 23 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mrs. Floyd will be held 4:30 o'clock, Sunday, October 27, at the Columbia Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4440 Fort Jackson Blvd, Columbia. The family will receive friends beginning 3:30 o'clock in the Relief Society Room at the church. A committal service will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Monday, October 28, at 2 o'clock.
