It is with great sadness the family of Celia Ruff Kibler of Columbia, SC announces her passing on December 26, 2020 at the age of 84. She was the daughter of the late Clinton and Elsie Ruff and wife to the late Ranzt Kibler.
Celia was predeceased by her parents and her loving husband of 64 years, whom she married in 1951. She is survived by her 3 sons and their spouses, Randy Kibler (Nancy), Kenneth Kibler (Angie), and Tony Kibler (Carole); 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
While being a 50+ year member of Woodfield Park Baptist Church, she remained involved in many roles including Financial Recording Secretary, Social Committee, and the Nominating Committee. It was obvious to everyone how much Celia loved spending time with her Ruth Sunday School Class.
She was a loving mother to her boys and "daughters" and always had a hug and a smile for anyone she met. For those that had the pleasure of eating Celia's cooking, we expect that when she got to Heaven, there was a line waiting for her to make those famous biscuits. She will be missed terribly by everyone, but all rejoice because we know that she is in heaven.
The family would like to thank some very special people in Ms. Celia's life: Shirley Outlaw, Nelva Walker, Debbie Lancaster, the caregivers of Comfort Keepers, the Nurses and Staff at Providence Hospital and the staff of Heart of Hospice.
The service will be held at 3 o'clock, Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Rd Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock. The Reverend Jeff Phillips and Ms. Celia's great-grandson, Seth Friend, will be officiating. As a reminder for those attending, masks are required, and social distancing will be enforced to maintain a safe environment for all. A livestream of the service may be viewed by visiting Ms. Celia's tribute page at ShivesFuneralHome.com. A private graveside service will be held for the family only.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woodfield Park Baptist Church, 1834 Morninglo Lane Columbia, SC, 29223; or to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY, 10305.
