Emma Jo Wise Peake, 84, of Columbia, died on Friday, March 12, 2021. Born in Richland County, SC, on October 25, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur Aiken and Thelma Louise Sloan Wise. Mrs. Peake was a godly woman, who loved her daughters, grandchildren , and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed word searches, crossword puzzles, Scrabble, and reading her Bible. Mrs. Peake never missed an opportunity to be with family and spend time with them.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Peake Jackson and Debra "Debbie" Durrell (Ronald "Ron"); grandchildren, Robbie Jackson (Laura Lisotto), Kristy Jackson, Ashley Durrell, Taylor Durrell; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hannah, Braylon, Wyatt, Ariana, Walker and Blake; brother, Wilbur E. Wise; sister, Melba Carpenter (Wayne). In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peake is preceded in death by her husband, Laurie "Punk" Eugene Peake; great- grandson, William Clark; and sister, Maxine Meadows.

The funeral service for Mrs. Peake will be held at 2 o'clock, Monday, March 15th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with Pastor Steve Sanders officiating. Burial will follow the service in Ebenezer Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Adderly Coleman, Raimey Donkel, Jason Holland, Chad Peake, Jeremy Richardson, and Carlisle Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Taylor Durrell, Gregory Goff, Wayne Goff, and Bobby Reid. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4 until 6 o'clock, at the funeral home. All are invited to attend; however, masks are required, and social distancing is enforced to maintain a safe environment for all.
