Erma Fetherol Ruff, 75, of West Columbia, went home to heaven on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Born November 25,1949, in Fairmont, West Virginia, to Roman and Erma Fetherol, Erma was the second youngest of six siblings. She married her husband, Noah Earl Ruff, on May 11,1972, and they lived together in West Columbia until his passing on July 6,2015.

She is survived by her two sons, Jonathan Ryan, of Summerville, SC, and James Nicholas, of Irmo, SC, and their wives, Anne-Marie and Laurie, respectively. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Nate, Bryson, Olivia, Lucy, Everly, and Mya. She was predeceased by her infant grandson, Declan.

Throughout her life, she was dedicated to serving others. From volunteering, and, eventually working, at her sons' schools, to working in church preschools, she was always looking to make an impact with people in her community. An avid baker, she was known for spreading joy with her cookies and pound cakes. She also had a fondness for crocheting afghan blankets, making them for her sons' school friends in the 1990's and for friends of friends/family after that.

The funeral service for Mrs. Ruff will be held at 12 o'clock noon, on Monday, March 17th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. A private burial will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park.

The family will receive guests prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 11 o'clock.
