Ernest Steve Carter, 66, of Blythewood, died Friday, December 14, 2018. Born February 9, 1952 in Columbia, he was a son of the late Ernest and Evelyn Wilson Carter.

Ernest was a member of Full Salvation Baptist Church and was involved in Happytimes Center in Columbia. He had a playful spirit and was loved by all who had the opportunity to meet him.

Survivors include his siblings, Barbara Ann Carter, Joyce Carter, James Carter, Sammy Carter and Eugene Carter (Mary Helen). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tally Gene Carter.

A funeral service for Ernest will be held 11 o'clock, Monday, December 17th at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia. Burial will follow in Spears Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock.
