Esther Clara Heine Langford, 94, of Columbia, died peacefully Thursday, December 21, 2017. Born May 11, 1923 she was a daughter of the William and Elizabeth Meetz Heine. She was a member of St. Michael and All Angels' Episcopal Church. Mrs. Langford volunteered at Baptist Hospital for more than 30 years and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Cave (Dan), Elizabeth "Betty" Yarnall (Bill); sons, Walter H. Langford, Jr., Paul Langford (Pam) and Col. William Langford; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Heller Langford, Sr.

Services for Mrs. Langford will be private. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
