Obituary

ET1 Ricky Calvin Lowrimore, US Navy (Ret.), 59, passed away on June 5, 2024. He was a beloved husband, brother. uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ricky was the son of late Curtis C. Lowrimore Jr and Ella Bell (Peggy) Lowrimore.

Affectionately known as Rick by his friends and co-workers and Ricky to his family. He was born on October 23, 1964, in Biloxi Mississippi at Keesler Air Force Base. Being a military kid, he had the honor of living in many states in the US along with Japan and Italy. Upon his dad's retirement from the US Airforce, he lived in Conway, SC until he joined the United States Navy at the age of 17.

He was proud of his 20 years of service in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician: After retiring, he lived in Summerville, SC and worked at Lieber Correctional until moving to Blythewood, SC and working at Kirkland Correctional. During his almost 20 years of service with the South Carolina Prison System he made many friends who became family to him. Rick was known for being a fixer of everything, a dry sense of humor, being stubborn, and his opinions.

He loved spending time with his siblings, their families, his friends, camping, tasty food, any kind of fishing and especially all animals. Throughout his 59 years of life there were many dogs and a few cats that had the honor of being his fur children.

Ricky is survived by his loving former wife, Vicki Lowrimore; sisters, Wendy Adams from Lugoff, SC; Tearesa Hudson (Rob) from Blythewood, SC; brother, Dennis Lowrimore (Cyndi) from Conway; special great niece, Brooklyn Gause; along with many nieces and nephews; and loving canine companion, Stinson. Rick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carmen Smith; and with many fur children.

The family would like to thank all of those that assisted Rick during his difficult time. It brings them much comfort knowing he was not alone and was prayed over during his time of need.

The Graveside Service for ET1 Lowrimore will be held at 3 o'clock on Friday, June 14th, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC, with full military honors. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Tearesa's home in Blythewood, SC. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
