Obituary

Mrs. Ethel Louise McDonald Tennant of Columbia, died Thursday, June 9, 2016; 12 days after 100th birthday. Born May 28, 1916 in Greene County, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late William Perry and Bessie Armstrong McCracken McDonald.

Mrs. Tennant is survived by her daughter, Donna Rae Palma (Joseph); grandsons, Michael Joseph Palma (Frances) and Raymond Peter Palma (Michiko); great-grandchildren, Raymond Theodore Palma, Jordan Michaela Palma and Mina Rae Palma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Carl Tennant; brother, Blair McDonald, and her sisters, Ellen Raber and Beulah Ullum.

A memorial service will be held at 2 o'clock, Sunday, June 12th, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, with Pastor Doug Benton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rehoboth United Methodist Church Choir, 6911 Two Notch Road, Columbia, 29223. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.

The family would like to thank the care givers at Rice Estates Nursing Home for the loving care they gave mother. During her final days, they were vigilant in keeping her safe and comfortable. Although mother did not respond, all spoke to her expressing their love.
