Eugene (Gene) A. Wymer, 54, of Camden, died on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Born in Richland County on January 21, 1969, he was a son of the late Ned Ernest and Barbara Kimbler Wymer. Gene was self employed and enjoyed woodworking, tinkering with motors, fishing and hunting. He served in the US Navy for 6 years and also for 18 years with Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Survivors include his wife, Ruelene Wymer; brother, Brian Wymer (Christy); sons, Chris Potter and Bobby Heiniger; nieces and nephews, Mary Wymer, Justin Wymer (fiancé, Ashlyn Dasho), Brittany Wymer (Corey Nichols), Matthew Wymer and Gracie Wymer; as well as great-nephews, Cameron Nichols Wymer and Alexander Blackwell.

The service for Mr. Wymer will be held at 5 o'clock, Saturday, January 20th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 4 o'clock.
