Evelyn Zeagler Thacker, 94, of Columbia, died on Monday, December 16, 2024. Born in the family home in Lone Star, SC, on December 4, 1930, she was a daughter of the late William Jefferson and Mamie Everleen Shirer Zeagler. Mrs. Thacker retired from Collins & Lacy where she served as bookkeeper for many years. She was a long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Columbia.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Thacker; son, Paul E. Thacker, Jr. (Barbara); sister, Gladys Allen, of Atlanta, GA; as well as a special cousin and nephew, Sandra Murray and Wayne Catoe; and dear friends, Peggy Hope and Cindy Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Eugene Thacker, Sr.; two brothers and nine sisters.

The graveside service for Mrs. Thacker will be held at 11 o'clock, Thursday, December 19th, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC, with the Rev. Dr. Tony Meetze officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
