Mrs. Fannie Cornelia Mattox Branham, 92, of Blythewood, died on Saturday, December 15, 2012. Born on January 23, 1920, in Argyle, GA, she was a daughter of the late Leon Alexander Mattox and Mary Elizabeth Booth Mattox.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Blythewood Ward, she had served on missions for several years following her retirement from the State Department of Agriculture. Her missions included serving at the Visitors Center at the Idaho Falls Temple, as well as at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, UT, and with The Bishop's Storehouse in Columbia, SC.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Campbell (Rick) of Hurricane, UT, Martha Ann Trapp (Joe) of Blythewood; son, Richard Branham (Sylvia) of Blythewood; sister, Elizabeth Perry of Columbia; brother, Chester Mattox of Homerville, GA; and daughter-in-law, Jan Thornton of Tampa, FL; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Aaron Branham, and Joel T. Thornton; son, Ronnie Thornton; daughter, Adelle Mattox; brothers, Orville and Leon Mattox; sisters, Myrtle Quinn, Isabelle Taylor, and Vera James.
A funeral service will be held 3 o'clock, Monday, December 17th, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, Blythewood Ward, 1391 Centerville Road, Ridgeway, conducted by Bishop Dean Branham. Burial will follow at Centerville Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 2 o'clock in the Relief Society Room.
