Faye Lapointe (lovingly known to friends and family as "Purple"), 87, of McCandless Township, beloved wife of the late Joseph G. H. Lapointe, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Mrs. Lapointe was surrounded by her loving children; Jill Waugh, Jonathon Alsop (Sheleagh), and Josyella Johnson (Jeff); plus two of her grandchildren, John Waugh (Kristyn) and Mark Waugh (Emily).
Mrs. Lapointe was a homemaker and executive secretary who was known for her southern charm, quick wit, hilarious storytelling, and incurable sweet tooth. She was loved around the world and was the center of attention at any function she attended. Mrs. Lapointe was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, who will be missed by her children, stepchildren; Ann Thon (Joe), Kathy King (Jim), Greg Lapointe (Celeste), 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Lapointe is also survived by her brother, Johnny Ray Lawson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mildred Lawson; as well as her sisters, June Gross and Sheila Kowalski.
The family will receive friends from 11 until 1 o'clock Saturday, December 17th at Simons Funeral Home, 7720 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15237, with a reception following the visitation.
A private graveside service for Mrs. Lapointe will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday, December 21st at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC. The family will be hosting a reception following the service.
