Mr. Felix Vargas, 82, of Columbia, formerly of Cayey, Puerto Rico, succumbed to natural causes in the comfort of his own home on Monday, March 21, 2022.

Felix was born to parents Encarnation Rivera Vargas and Enrique Vargas Rivera on February 21, 1940, in Cayey, Puerto Rico.

Felix is survived by his son, Angel Vargas Diaz; brothers, Luis E. Vargas and Miguel Vargas; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. He was a loving father and friend to everyone.

Felix loved performing maintenance on his vehicles, traveling, and attending social events. He worked as a carpenter/maintenance technician at several apartment complex in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for over 30 years. He spent his free time traveling around Puerto Rico visiting family and friends. Felix was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects or whatever else people needed him for.

A special thank you to the staff at CM Tucker Care Facility for their loving care and support during his final days.

The family will greet friends at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC 29223, on Saturday, March 26th from 2:30 until 3:30 o'clock. The family has chosen cremation and his ashes will be taken to Puerto Rico for services at a later date.
