Florence Nima Lea Simpson, 87, of Winnsboro, died on Friday, September 27, 2024. Born in Wagener, SC, on September 19, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Claudious DeWitt "Witt" Cook, Sr. and Mittie Lybrand Cook. Mrs. Simpson studied secretarial work at Columbia Commercial College and later became certified as a Prosthetic Technician. Her work in Prosthetics pioneered her as one of the first women in the country to become fully certified. She retired in 2001 and enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and knitting.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Milbern (Kim); son, Bobby Simpson (Bonnie); nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Tyce Simpson; daughter, Debbie Rollison (Marty); grandchildren, Matt Floyd and Wendy Campbell; and five siblings.
The service for Mrs. Simpson will be private. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
