Frances Caroline Blizzard

Frances Jones Blizzard, 87, of Ridgeway, died on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Born on March 20, 1939, in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Gladys Sanders Jones.

Frances was a faithful and devoted member of Sandy Level Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a leader in her Sunday School class. Through her church, she participated in numerous mission trips, traveling to share the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ with people around the world. Her life was a reflection of her compassionate spirit and unwavering commitment to serving others.

In addition to her dedication to her faith and community, Frances found joy in crafting and creating with her hands. Above all else, she treasured her family, and her greatest happiness came from spending time with and loving her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Don (Alice) Blizzard; daughter, Jacqueline Louise Moore; grandsons, Michael Paul Blizzard and Chris Moore; a granddaughter, Shannon Nichole Clark (Chris); great grandchildren, Abraham and Hanna; sisters, Betty Grace Morrison and Glinda Louisa Mayers; brother, Willie K. Jones; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents listed above and her husband, Haskell Blizzard.

The family will receive friends from 4 o’clock until 6 o’clock on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Shives Funeral Home, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext. Columbia, SC.

The funeral service will be held at 10 o’clock on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Sandy Level Baptist Church, 408 Blythewood Rd. Blythewood, SC. Committal will follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Rd. Columbia, SC.

Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
