Frances Loretta Rawls, 76, of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Born on November 3, 1945, in Columbia, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Luther Ford and Ruby Ford Vickers McKay. Loretta was a dedicated member of The First Church of God, where she assisted with bible school and in the nursery. She was a Godly woman, strong in her faith and a true prayer warrior.

Loretta was the loving wife of 59 years to Billy Carl Rawls, Sr., and together they owned and operated 555 Towing Service. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, writing in her journal, and being with her family. Loretta's servants heart led her to become a foster parent for many children over the years. She will be dearly missed for her great storytelling and cooking.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Billy Carl Rawls, Jr. (Debra) and Jonathan Rawls (Erica); daughters, Tammy Kinder (William), Melissa Jones, Katie McConnell (Mike); grandchildren, Billy Carl Rawls III, Jennifer Rawls, Amanda Kinder, Hannah Rawls, Emalee Rawls, Sara Rawls, Bri Jones, Dylan McConnell, and Michael Aiden McConnell; great-grandchildren, Billy Logan Rawls, Lillian Rawls, Luke Rawls, Layla Rawls, and Mattis Goins; brothers, Larry Ford, Donald Ford (Edna), Roger Ford, and Stanley Ford (Vickie); sister, Debbie Birdsell (Keith); special nephew, Shane Rawls; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, James Luther Ford.

The memorial service for Mrs. Rawls will be held at 2 o'clock on Saturday, April 16th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC 29223. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1 o'clock.
