Mrs. Frances Boar Rich, 92, of Columbia, died Saturday, November 28, 2015. Born on October 6, 1923 in New York City, New York, she was a daughter of the late Solomon and Sarah Boar. Frances moved to Columbia and was a former member of Beth Shalom Synagogue. She worked for several years with Belk's, first as a gift-wrapper, and later in the accounting department. Frances deeply loved God and her family, and she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Frances is survived by a son, David Rich (Pam) of Greenville; daughter, Frona McCaslin (Michael), Blythewood; daughter-in-law, Beth Rich; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Rich.
The graveside service for Mrs. Rich will be held at 4 o'clock, Monday, November 30th, at Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery, 720 Blanding St., Columbia. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family. The Rich family is thankful for the care and compassion of the staff of White Oak Manor. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
