Frances W Young, 87, daughter and only child of the late J. Frank & Carolyn C. Wishert, entered into her final rest January 19, 2025, after an extended illness. She was a retired school secretary spending more than 20 years at Bradley Elementary School where she was loved by generations of children and their parents. She also was "Mom" to kids from the entire Bradley neighborhood, Wildewood High School athletics, Crescent Hill Baptist Church, and so many others she adopted along the way. Anyone in need found all the help she could provide at a moment's notice, dispensing band aids, hugs, and cookies to all ages young and old.

Frances was a dedicated Christian and for the last 40 years was an active member of Kathwood Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, worked with the church's youth groups, served on a myriad of committees, and sang in the choir. She loved to sew, knit, and crochet. Among her fondest pastimes was enjoying the company of the ladies in her sewing group, Sew Devine, where she and her friends spent hours making bootees, caps, and mittens for donation to those in need. When not busy with some craft project, as a voracious reader, she could be found with a book in hand, or as an incredible cook, whipping up something delicious in the kitchen.

Always quick to offer much needed reassurance, sage wisdom, or a shoulder on which to cry, her kind, thoughtful, and patiently forgiving nature will be missed by all. She was truly a blessing to all who had the good fortune to encounter her.

She is predeceased by her parents, and husband, Capt. Robert W. Young, Sr., US Army (Ret). She is survived by son, Robert, Jr. (Debi) of Forest Acres; daughter, Missy of York, and grandchildren Alexandria Boyd, Candice Young, and Joshua Raulerson.

The family will receive visitors in the Narthex of Kathwood Baptist Church at 9 o'clock on Thursday, January 23rd, with the memorial service beginning at 10 o'clock.
A private family graveside service will follow.
