Frankie E. Thompson, 62, affectionately known as "Poppy" and resident of Gilbert, SC, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 15, 2019, surrounded by his family.

Frankie was born to Isaac and the late Betty S. Thompson on May 7, 1957 in Nurnberg, Germany. He was a master craftsman and could build anything with his hands. Prior to his retirement, he was a Project Manager, Quality Control and Safety Manager for family housing at Fort Jackson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with loved ones who he deeply cherished.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Robin Hollis Thompson; children, Hope Ann Ray (Eddie) and Karl Robert Thompson (Angela); five grandchildren, Chase Thompson, Aaron Craven, Bradley Craven, Damian Thompson and Haley Thompson; one great-grandchild, Chloe Craven; sister, Carmen Wages (Lonnie); brothers, Steve Thompson (Robbin) and Larry Thompson (Annette); sisters-in-law, Cathy Bannister (Steve) and Connie Robertson (Henry); brothers-in-law, Robert W. "Bobby" Hollis IV, James M. "Jim" Hollis, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A service will be held on Friday, June 21st at 1 o'clock at Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church, 530 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29210 with the Reverend Curtis Robertson, Jr., and the Reverend Jana L. Creighton officiating. A visitation will be held one-hour prior to the service in the church foyer.
