Franklin Joseph "Frankie" Brown, 61, of Columbia, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Born August 5, 1957 in Columbia, he was a son of Lloyd Wyman Brown (Wanda) and the late Barbara Wylie White (Arthur "Skip").

Frankie loved life in general, but was especially fond of chasing trains, strolling around the state fair, recording marching bands and following professional wrestling. He enjoyed sharing "Frankie Time" with his family members by playing air drums, Wii bowling or computer golf. Frankie never met a stranger and beamed with pride as he talked with everyone about his family, which included several dogs over the years. He had a sharp memory, was naturally curious, very competitive and had a way of surprising you with a truly insightful or wickedly funny comment.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his brothers, Bryan A. Brown (Sheri) and Mark D. Brown (Wanda), half-brother, Scott L. Brown (Jamie), step-sister Lisa Corrigan (Barry); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

A visitation for Mr. Brown will be held from 4 until 6 o'clock, Saturday, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Special Olympics South Carolina, 109 Oak Park Drive, Irmo, SC 29063.
