Obituary

We proudly express the valedictory of Rev. Franklin Odell Jordan, Sr. He began his race on October 6, 1926 and finished on November 15, 2023, having fought the good fight and keeping the faith. There is now laid up for him the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give him on that day, and to all who have loved his appearing (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

He proudly served his country in World War II. In 1954, he was ordained as a minister of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ by the International Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was instrumental in developing and building houses of worship both in North Carolina and South Carolina. As a soul winner for Christ, he has influenced and changed numerous lives that only eternity will reveal.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Geneva Nates Jordan; children, Franklin O. Jordan, Jr. (Debbie), Kathy Jordan Miller (Dean), and Michael (Mike) K. Jordan (Angie); daughter-in-law, Konnie Smith Jordan; his grandchildren, David Bryan Jordan (Kelly), Amber Jordan Kenga (David), Philip Miller (fiancé Heather Hinson), Katelyn Turner (Kyle), Melissa Shaver (Kevin), Josh Jordan (Jessica); great grandchildren, Israel, Jayden, Kaylen, Kaylee, Jordan, Savannah, Kevin, Ellie, Emma and Easton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Philip DeWayne "Wayne" Jordan; and his siblings, William Jordan, O.D Jordan, Troy Jordan, Boyd Jordan, Jack Jordan, Eula Kirby, Betty Neely, and Shelby Jordan.

The funeral service for Rev. Jordan will be held at 11:30 o'clock, Wednesday, November 22nd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. Burial will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 o'clock.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the MUSC Downtown and Northeast campuses as well as the hospice group and also the many friends of Rev. Jordan for all of the love, care and prayers.

Having a strong desire for missions and to see the Salvation of mankind he and his family respectfully request donations be sent to Oliver Gospel Missions Columbia, SC, in lieu of flowers.
