Mr. Franklin Otis Schumpert, 68, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, December 6th, 2025. Born on November 11th, 1957, in Lexington, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Noah Franklin Shumpert and Hilma Sallie Lucas Shumpert.
Frank Schumpert, 68, passed away on Saturday. A respected figure in the world of aircraft maintenance, he devoted more than 40 years to the craft he loved, building a reputation for expertise, integrity, and generosity. As the owner of his own maintenance business, he was known not just for his skill, but for the care and mentorship he offered to those who worked alongside him.
Endlessly curious, he explored subjects ranging from religion and philosophy to politics, always eager for a thoughtful conversation. He was also an accomplished guitar player, filling the lives of those around him with music.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie, and his three sons, Michael, Frank, and Ben. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, colleagues, and all who were enriched by his warmth, wisdom, and restless curiosity.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Victoria "Vickie" Schumpert of Columbia, SC, his children, Frank Schumpert, Mike Schumpert, and Ben King.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, his wife Laura B. Schumpert and son Nicholas R. Schumpert.
The Rite of Christian Burial to honor Mr. Franklin's life will be held at 12 o'clock on Saturday, December 13th at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, 914 Market St. Camden, SC.
