Obituary

Freddie Lee Peake, 75, of Lugoff, died on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Born in Columbia, SC on October 21, 1945, he was the son of the late Fred and Ruby Mae Shannon Peake.

He was the loving husband to Linda Gale Fleming Peake. Their story began when the two met while Gale was a pianist and Freddie was a part of the congregation, both for the same church. They went on to have a long, successful marriage of 58 years.

Mr. Peake grew up in Lugoff and was a member of Alpine Baptist Church. He had a passion for woodwork, hunting, and fishing. Freddie enjoyed spending time with his son and buddies down at the Cleveland Swamp Hunting Club, where he'd been a caretaker since 1998. He was an avid racoon and squirrel hunter and was well known for his famous catfish stew.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his son; Brian A. Peake (Debra); fur grand-dog, Bella Grace; sister, Pamela Peake Moak (Wade); as well as many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
