Freeman Marion Sharpe, Jr., 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Blythewood, Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Born July 2, 1930, in Columbia, he was a son of the late Freeman M. and Thelma McGrady Sharpe. Freeman was married to Polly Graham Sharpe for 61 years. He was a member of the Blythewood Masonic Lodge #395.

Survivors include his wife, Polly G. Sharpe of Blythewood; children, Barbara Schott (John) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Marian Wilson (Homer), Brenda Edwards, all of Blythewood; grandchildren, Cheryl Barker (Gresham), Corey Hamilton, Keith Edwards, Jr., Ali Edwards; two great grandchildren, Carson and Morgan Barker; sister, Emily Broach (Albert) of Blythewood; and many nephews.

The funeral service for Mr. Sharpe will be held 11 o'clock, Friday, September 20th, at Sandy Level Baptist Church, 408 Blythewood Rd, Blythewood, with The Rev. Brett DeYoung officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Homer Wilson, Bobby Quattlebaum, Keith Edwards, Jr., Steve Broach, Kenny Eargle, and Edward Cooper. Members of the Blythewood Masonic Lodge are invited to serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the interment.
