Gary Lee Chaney, 75, of Columbia, died on Monday, January 16, 2023. Born July 26, 1947, in Washington, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Robert and Ruby Jean Foringer Chaney. Gary worked for many years in medical equipment sales and later retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially when he had the opportunity to play golf. Gary was a US Air Force veteran and honorably served his country during the Vietnam War era.

Survivors include his wife, Linda S. Chaney; children, Michael Chaney (Barbie), and Jessica Beals (Jeremy). He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Taylor (15), Bryson (12), Cooper (10), Blake (9), and Brooklyn (8). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Sandra Poland, Robert Chaney, Jr., and Fred Chaney.

The graveside service for Gary will be held at 1 o'clock, Thursday, January 19th, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
