Eugene (Gene) Randall Mills, 88, of Chapin, died on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Born in Chester County, SC, on February 9, 1935, he was a son of the late Emmitt and Lillian Blanchard Mills. Mr. Mills was a member of First Church of God and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was an avid Gamecock fan and retired after 33 years from Boozer Lumber Company.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Wolfe Mills; daughter, Karen Michele Soland; grandchildren, Christopher D. Fay and Alexandria (Xan) D. Fay; great-grandchildren, Sophie A. Fay and Kristian D. Fay; and uncle, Frank Blanchard (Carole).

The service for Mr. Mills will be held at 11 o'clock, Monday, March 27th, at First Church of God, 2665 Covenant Road, Columbia, SC 29204, with Rev. Richard Rusnak officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 10 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family. In light of his love for gardening, floral arrangements are welcomed.
