George C. Cross, 83, of Blythewood, died Monday, April 13, 2015. Born in Iva, SC, August 31, 1931, he was a son of the late John Walter and Eva Brewster Cross. George loved and lived to fish. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

Survivors include sons, Edwin Thurmon Longo of Ormand Beach, FL, James Clovis Longo of Largo, FL and Joe Walter Longo of Muncie, IN; his step-daughter, Jennifer Steller; his sister, Mildred (Owen) Arnold; and his brother, James Cross, all of Anderson, SC; seven grandchildren; and friends, Wilbur (Phyllis) Hudson of Blythewood, John (Marlene) Cooper, Carl Cooper and Jim Yergan, all of McClellanville, SC. George was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Wingard Cross.

A memorial service for Mr. Cross will be held 2 o'clock, Friday, April 17th, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1801 Cedar Creek Rd, Blythewood, with The Rev. Charles Wilbanks officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
