Obituary

George Lloyd Mayer, 93, died Friday, April 23, 2021. Born on March 24, 1928, in St. Paul Minnesota, he was a son of the late Edwin H. and Mae Brimmer Mayer. Mr. Mayer enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War and served from 1951 – 1953 earning his rank of Corporal. Following his military service, Mr. Mayer began a long career with Square D Company where he truly enjoyed his occupation. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, having earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. Mr. Mayer was a devoted member of Northeast Presbyterian Church with his family for many years and enjoyed serving with others.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Beverly Jean Wagner Mayer; son, Kurt Mayer (Beth); daughters, Kris Mayer and Kathy Mayer-Solosy (Bill); grandchildren, Bryan Mayer (Lynn), Michael Mayer (Allison), Lauren Mayer Benton (Joe), Sebastian Fearn; great-grandchildren, Brayden Mayer, Kaya Mayer, Ainsley Mayer, and Piper Mayer. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death is his brother, Howard Mayer.

In accordance with Mr. Mayer's wishes, a private family service and burial will be held at Northeast Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Josh Desch officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
