Mr. George Carroll Stoudemire, a true and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away after a brief illness on December 16, 2017. Born at Richtex, SC, Carroll was the youngest of six children born to H. T. and Lizzie Eleazer Stoudemire. Now, his beautiful voice is singing with a heavenly choir of angels. A man of the greatest integrity, he was a friend and mentor to countless lucky folks. His honesty, dedication, faithfulness and sense of humor made him loved by all who had the privilege to know him. Carroll was at the ready to give his assistance, whether through his knowledge or hard to work to anyone that called on him. Having been a charter member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and serving in many capacities, he remained a member there for four decades. He retired from Richland School District One and spent his time in his garden, sharing it's bounty and cutting wood which he shared also.
Carroll is survived by the love of his life of 51 years, Sandra Shealy Stoudemire; his daughter, Sherri Stoudemire Mackenzie, and her husband, Mike of Glen Allen VA. Also, he is survived by his "oldest daughter", Lisa Enlow Davis of Blythewood, her husband, Larry who he thought of as a son; and "grandsons", Luke and Levi Davis; and "son" Steve Dent. Other surviving family members include his brother, Richard Stoudemire (Gale) of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Carroll was predeceased by his beloved sister, and brother in law, Dot and Alvin Enlow; and brother's Charles, Pete and Russell Stoudemire.
A service for Mr. Stoudemire will be held 4 o'clock, Tuesday, December 19th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with Dr. James W. Thompson, III officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A private family burial will precede in Peak Cemetery.
