Gilberto Santana, 63, of Lugoff, died Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Born in Missouri, on July 2, 1955, he was a son of Cirilo and Ana Mercedes Garcia Santana. Mr. Santana enjoyed singing, and playing the guitar.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Dorothy Roberts Santana; step-children, Karen Medlin, Missy Lee, and Thurman Medlin, Jr. (Erin); a brother, Norberto Santana (Gladys Rivera); niece and nephews, Ariel, Norberto, Jr., Angelica, Alejandro, and Christian; as well as two four legged companions, Chico and Sophie Santana. Mr. Santana was preceded in death by his two brothers, Efrain and Edwin Santana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 o'clock, Monday, August 13th at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 100 Polo Road, Columbia, with The Rev. Fr. C. Alexander McDonald officiating. Final Commendation and Farewell prayers will be said at Fort Jackson National Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4 until 6 o'clock, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
